Michael Blake for Congress

We Deserve a more Affordable, Safe and Fair NY-15.

From the The Bronx to the Obama White House and back home again, Michael has always fought for working families — creating jobs, mentoring young people, and helping communities rise. As a State Assembly Member, he helped bring New York’s first statewide My Brother’s Keeper initiative, fought to get small businesses paid on time, and delivered millions for local schools and youth programs.

Now he’s running for Congress to make The Bronx more affordable, safer, and fairer for all. Join the movement.

Meet Rev. Michael Blake

Born and raised in the South Bronx, Michael Blake never forgot where he came from.

A Reverend, Obama White House alum, former NY Assembly member and small business owner, Michael Blake has spent his life organizing for justice and opportunity.

As Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, he helped Democrats retake the House and as your Assemblymember launched the nations first statewide My Brother’s Keeper program right here in New York — but his heart and home have always been right here in The Bronx.

Michael knows our borough deserves leadership that listens, not one that gets rich while families struggle to pay rent. He’s running because The Bronx deserves better — and we can build it together.

The Bronx Plan

We Deserve Better, We Deserve The Best, We Need Change

  • Too many Bronx families are being priced out of their own neighborhoods. Michael’s plan puts working people first — with real affordability, not luxury marketing.

    • Freeze rents for rent-stabilized tenants.

    • Fix NYCHA — now.

    • Price affordable housing to Bronx incomes, not Manhattan’s.

    • Lower grocery, transit, and energy bills.

    • Make child care affordable and protect Social Security, Medicare, and SNAP.

Affordable means what Bronx families can actually pay.

  • Every Bronx family deserves to feel safe — walking home, riding the train, or opening a business. Michael’s safety plan builds trust and care, not fear.

    • Expand mental health care and mobile crisis teams.

    • Support violence interrupters like Bronx Rises Against Gun Violence (BRAG).

    • Target quality-of-life issues with clean streets, bright lights, and accountability.

    • Practice precision policing — not over-policing — that focuses on the few driving violence, while respecting community trust.

    Safety through care, not cruelty.

  • The Bronx economy should work for Bronx workers. Michael knows — he’s a small business owner himself.

    • Expand low-interest loans for local entrepreneurs.

    • Launch a Green Jobs Academy to train Bronx residents for clean energy and NYCHA retrofits.

    • Build year-round youth jobs in tech, health care, and climate.

Empower Minority- and Women-Owned Businesses to win federal contracts.

Every new job in The Bronx is a win for the whole borough.

  • Michael will always stand up for justice — from The Bronx to the world.

    • Defend reproductive freedom, LGBTQIA+ rights, and free speech.

    • Protect immigrant families from unlawful ICE actions.

    • Demand humanitarian aid and accountability abroad — from Gaza to Sudan — ensuring U.S. dollars feed and house children, not harm them.

    • Stand with Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, fighting for disaster recovery, self-determination, and economic justice.

    Justice here. Peace everywhere.

  • The Bronx and Puerto Rico share one heart. Thousands of NY-15 families trace their roots to the island — and Michael has always stood with them.

As DNC Vice Chair, he made sure the 787 area code was prioritized for outreach after Hurricane Maria. In Congress, he’ll fight for:

    • Full self-determination and democracy for Puerto Rico.

    • Cancellation of crushing debt and an end to the unelected fiscal control board.

    • Affordable, resilient energy through public power.

    • Repeal of Act 22, which displaces Puerto Rican families.

Standing with Puerto Rico means standing for dignity and justice — at home and abroad.
